Project details
There are thousands of islands, oxbows and strips of land that make up the various archipelagos of Polynesia. Society Islands, Le Tuamotu, the infinite number of atolls. Each island with its own colour, each sea bed with its own reflections in the water; the sands of the coral beaches and those of the inland areas, luxuriant at times, and at times arid. There are people who express their feelings about these lands on great canvases full of colour. The artist’s name in this case is Claude and he calls himself a citizen of the world and a painter of nature. We met him by chance while, in his canoe, he rowed his way home to a small wooden construction on the beach of one of the many islands. He leads us on to explore the islands from a different viewpoint, more aware of the colours of the earth, the sand and the sea, but also aware of the Polynesian soul.
