Project details

The earthquake that struck Abruzzo on April 6th, 2009, left an aftermath of fear, uncertainty and destruction. A Golden Rose was placed by Pope Benedict XVI before the statue of Our Lady of Roio, appealing to her to protect the people. This helped to motivate these people to start again. To show their gratitude a group of horsemen and pilgrims made their way to St. Peter’s Square, in front of the Vatican with a small statue of Our Lady of Roio, as an expression of their hope and faith. This documentary retraces the journey from Aquila to Rome guided by the words of the faithful, the parish priest, Don Osman, and the horsemen themselves.
