Project details

Off the coast of Papua New Guinea, an archipelago of wild islands becomes the scenario for a meeting between the western world and the traditions and seafaring culture of ancient civilizations. The bond between yesterday and today, the past and the present, makes for a futuristic voyage among these islands to meet elderly fishermen, children and young islanders. Full of curiousity for this steel means of travel, the inhabitants of the archipelago approach the “modern men” in their small canoes made from ancient tree trunks. An exchange begins between two worlds which will make spectators reflect on the changes that are happening to our planet. Changes of which we should be very much aware in order to preserve the integrity of the environment and of the people who live in the most inaccessible areas of the earth.
