Life in the Sea

PandatariafilmLife in the Sea

Project details

The sea covers 70% of the surface of our planet and life on Earth actually began in the water. Following the gradual separation of the land into continents, the incredible power of volcanic movement below the surface of the water led to the emergence of the islands and the formation of the coastlines that divided the seas from the oceans. However, these maintained a link that enabled the currents of water to flow between them and contributed to the exchange of animal and vegetable larvae. In time this allowed for the migration of mammals and various fish species from one ocean to another. By observing the volcanic sea beds, the coralline ones followed by the unfathomable depths, it is amazing how totally different environments, thousands of kilometers apart, can still provide a home for the same plant and animal species.
