Cartagena and the Rosario Islands

PandatariafilmCartagena and the Rosario Islands

Project details

The most famous tourist location in Colombia is Cartagena, home to one of the most important colonial centres in the whole of South America. On foot, by bike or in a traditional chariot all the way to Customs Square, then on to the Square of Carriages and finally to Bolivar Square, dedicated to the memory of Simon Bolivar, the Venezuelan patriot who founded the “Gran Colombia”. The Rosario Islands, facing Cartagena and the beaches, situated between the historic centre and the modern city, offer entertainment of all kinds, but Cartagena really comes to life at night: Salsa, Merengue and the gran gala to celebrate two hundred years of independence from Spain. Together with the people of Cartagena, we discover the true origins of this city, reaching right back to the time of the Spanish galleons brimming with gold.
