Project details

French Polynesia figures among the places where everyone wants to go at least once in their lives. Enchanting islands surrounded by the colours of the Pacific Ocean, but 20,000 Kilometres away from Europe. The reason for this journey is to document the culture and traditions of the remotest of the Austral Islands of the Polynesian Archipelago. Maman Marie, one of the tireless Polynesian women, is going to be our guide around Rimatara Island and show us what the island’s community need to do to survive. Hats, hairclips and bags of every kind, made from natural materials, are just some of the things that the local women make and wear on holidays. Wonderful landscapes and a unique atmosphere can be found here for those travellers in pursuit of really authentically exotic places.
