The Egypt of Pharaohs

PandatariafilmThe Egypt of Pharaohs

Project details

By travelling along the River Nile from Cairo to Aswan, the history of ancient Egypt comes alive again. The stories of Naguib Mahfouz lead us to the Khan El Khalili market place where coffee shops and merchants abound – it is the just the right place to absorb the unique atmosphere of the Arab world. The perfume of tea, the sound of the muezzin calling people to prayers and the sweet smell of the narghile accompany visitors all the way to the Great Pyramid of Giza. Sailing down the Great River (Nile) from Luxor to Aswan, the most important evidence of the ancient Egyptian civilization can be seen. Feluccas (narrow Mediterranean vessels) swept down this river on the wind, are still representative of its importance as a link between the north and south of this country.
