Project details

We are in Borneo, on a tiny tropical island called Sipadan. Its ecosystem is absolutely unique it being the only Malaysian island that rises out of the oceanic depths. Apart from its amazingly beautiful seabeds and very special geological make up, another characteristic of the island is the the marine turtle. In fact, Sipadan provides an extremely important area for the reproduction of this animal species. Accompanied by expert biological commentary, we have filmed the fascinating moment when the eggs are deposited on the shores of the island. The underwater vegetation around Sipadan offers the starting point of a journey to discover the natural wonders of Borneo, while Kuala Lumpur illustrates the futuristic aspect of Malaysia; an interesting antithesis between Borneo’s wild natural vegetation and the modern architecture of its capital.
