Potlach: the Gift of Theathre

PandatariafilmPotlach: the Gift of Theathre

Project details

In 1976, in Fara Sabina, a small town in central Italy, Pino di Buduo and Daniela Regnoli founded The Potlach Theatre. Potlach means exchange, barter. The word can be traced back to a North-western Canadian tribe and to their winter feasts when a lot of people came together and gifts were handed out to all present in the end. This way of conceiving theatre leaves nothing to chance; this theatre goes to its audiences. It looks for them and entrances them right there where they live. In their districts, their streets, their houses. This documentary is an amazing journey to recount the extraordinary experience of this theatrical group.
